The reason for wanting a Pentium D 915 or better is that you can run 64 bit windows 10 with that cpu.

Pentium D 900 series up to 960 works fine in GX620 Mini Tower with 305W power supply. It would work fine in an Optiplex GX620 with Bios A11 for example. There is nothing likely wrong with your processor.

It will not allow me to download the BIOS update because it is not digitally certified. The BIOS is currently at A02 and I have installed all the updates except the BIOS from the Dell Website. I can not figure out why it isn't working. Most forums said that the 210L was compatible with all Pentium 4 processors. I went online and searched for CPU compatibility. It immediately said that the processor is not supported system halted. I bought and installed the processor and turned on the computer.
